Maori Bilingual Language Class
When there is sufficient demand, Pasadena Intermediate will offer a full time class for children whose parents/caregivers want them to extend their knowledge of Te Reo and Tikanga.
During Hui/meetings held prior to the establishment of the class, the community expressed a preference for a bilingual unit. It is intended that students in the class will receive most of their home room lessons (Mathematics, Science, Health, Social Studies) in Te Reo Maori.
In 2001 the Whanau initiated a rededication and naming of the classroom. The Board used this opportunity to reconfirm its commitment to Maori Language.
Students in the class also participate in all the Specialist Courses, Enhanced Curriculum and Learning Support Programmes.
